Abortion No. 01/12
Idaho should allow abortion up to the point of fetal viability.
Background Idaho currently bans abortion at all stages of pregnancy, with narrow exceptions. A ballot initiative this November would allow abortion until fetal viability, usually around 24 weeks, and later in medical emergencies.
Idaho is a state that values the most innocent of all lives – the lives of babies. We should never relent in our efforts to protect the lives of the preborn.

Health care No. 02/12
Idaho should require adults covered by Medicaid expansion to work or look for work to keep coverage.
Background Idaho voters approved Medicaid expansion in 2018, and a 2026 state law adds work requirements for many adults in that group. Adults who do not meet the requirement or qualify for an exemption could lose coverage.

Education No. 03/12
Idaho should keep its tax credit that helps families pay private school tuition.
Background A 2025 Idaho law created a refundable tax credit of up to several thousand dollars per student for private school and other education costs. Ending it would return that money to the state budget.
With the passage of the $50 million Parental Choice Tax Credit program, Idaho boasts even more abundant schooling options for Idaho students and families.

Education No. 04/12
Idaho should increase state funding for public school teacher pay and buildings.
Background Idaho has ranked near the bottom of states in per-student spending, and many districts rely on local levies for buildings. More state money would raise the education budget and could reduce reliance on local property taxes.

Immigration No. 05/12
Idaho should keep state agreements that let its officers help carry out federal immigration enforcement.
Background Since 2025, Idaho State Police, the Department of Correction and several sheriffs have signed 287(g) agreements with federal immigration authorities. These let trained officers perform some immigration duties, such as holding and transporting detainees.
Idaho has a responsibility to uphold the rule of law and protect the people of our state. This agreement gives Idaho another tool to make sure criminal aliens who are subject to federal immigration enforcement are transferred to federal custody when they have completed their Idaho sentences.

Energy and climate No. 06/12
Idaho should accept out-of-state spent nuclear fuel to host a federal nuclear research campus.
Background Idaho is competing to host a federal nuclear lifecycle campus that would bring investment and jobs to the area near Idaho National Laboratory. The deal would require the state to accept shipments of spent fuel and radioactive waste, which a 1995 agreement sought to limit.

Guns No. 07/12
Idaho should allow courts to temporarily remove guns from people found to be a danger to themselves or others.
Background Idaho has no law of this kind, often called a red flag law. Such a law would let family members or police ask a judge to order a temporary removal of a person's guns.

Taxes No. 08/12
Idaho should cut its state income tax rate further.
Background Idaho has lowered its flat income tax rate several times since 2022, to about 5.3 percent. Further cuts would reduce state revenue that funds schools, Medicaid and other programs.
Idaho families and businesses need and deserve to keep more of their hard earned money.

Energy and climate No. 09/12
Idaho should require large data centers to pay the full cost of the power grid upgrades they need.
Background Large data centers are being built or planned in Idaho, and utilities must add power plants and lines to serve them. Requiring the centers to cover those costs would keep them off other customers' bills but could discourage some projects.
New, energy-intensive developments should bear the costs associated with the additional generation and transmission infrastructure they require, shielding Idaho families and businesses from higher electricity bills.

Taxes No. 10/12
Idaho should stop charging sales tax on groceries.
Background Idaho charges its 6 percent sales tax on groceries and gives residents an income tax credit to offset part of it. Removing the tax would lower grocery costs but reduce state revenue.

Health care No. 11/12
Idaho should keep Medicaid expansion even if federal funding for it drops.
Background Idaho voters approved Medicaid expansion in 2018, and lawmakers have debated repealing it if federal funding falls. Keeping it would continue coverage for low-income adults, possibly with more state money.
The voters spoke loudly in 2018 with their votes, and as elected leaders we must continue to respect that.

Public safety No. 12/12
Idaho should keep the death penalty.
Background Idaho allows the death penalty for first-degree murder and some other crimes, and made the firing squad its main execution method in 2025. Keeping it would continue capital sentences, while abolishing it would make life in prison the maximum sentence.
The sexual abuse of children is sickening and evil, and perpetrators convicted of these crimes deserve the ultimate punishment.
